Bull River bridge Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) began October 21st and will continue until November 22nd. If work on Bull River is completed early, GDOT will move on to Lazaretto Creek. Under the current schedule, work at Lazaretto Creek will follow the completion of Bull River and will start after the Thanksgiving break on the evening of November 30th.
Work at Lazaretto Creek will be completed on or about December 22nd . However if there are unforeseen delays in the schedule, work would resume on the evening of January 5th . Holiday breaks are planned for Thanksgiving (November 23 – 29) and if needed Christmas and New Year’s (December 23 - January 4).
The current plan is to work a 10 night “on” and 4 night “off” schedule. Weather permitting, road closures are anticipated to start at about 7:00 PM each work night with the work crews off the bridge no later than 6:00 AM the following morning.
