The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has issued an order that extends the current beach restrictions until 11:59 p.m., May 6.
Under this order Tybee Island beaches will open when the governor’s order expires at midnight, however the use of chairs, tents, umbrellas, and coolers is still prohibited on the beach. DNR game wardens will continue to patrol the beaches.
