Tonight, Tuesday, September 17th, the City of Tybee Island is hosting a public meeting to gather input about turning Meddin Drive into a one-way street and bicycle/pedestrian path. A pedestrian/bike lane is proposed on Meddin Drive that would be painted green to allow for greater visitbility. This proposal also addresses the need for more strategic solutions for bus drop-offs and bus parking, in addition to improving crosswalks near the Lighthouse in the highest pedestrian traffic area. With the relocation of the Tybee Island Marine Sceince Center to the north end in 2020, we will likely see greater traffic of all sorts, and the City is seeking proactive solutions that will work for visitors, residents, businesses and attractions. Please join us to share your thoughts.
