The City of Savannah has issued a boil water advisory for Chatham and Effingham Counties. This advisory DOES NOT impact Tybee Island, as we have our own separate water system. Tybee residents DO NOT need to follow the Savannah boil water advisory (see the map of the impacted areas).
For those in the impacted areas of Chatham and Effingham County, the boil water requirement will be in effect for the next 24 hours. This is due to a turbidity issue. Savannah has corrected the issue that caused the problem and EPD is already testing in order to clear the advisory as soon as possible.
