It’s been 51 years since this psychological supernatural horror film scared us to death and launched a new occult genre in filmmaking. So, it seemed like a perfect classic creepy pick for Girls’ Night Out as we approach Halloween. You’ll welcome that complimentary glass of wine with your movie tonight!
Starring Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes, the film chronicles the story of a young pregnant woman who suspects that an evil cult wants to take her baby for use in their rituals.
Written and directed by Roman Polanski, the film earned almost universal acclaim from film critics and won numerous nominations and awards. In 2014, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress, being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” It’s also downright spooky! It rated an astonishing 99 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes tomatometer. Rated R
