And on the heels of our celebration of the season premiere of The Walking Dead, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the horror movie that started the zombie craze, George A. Romero’s “The Night of the Living Dead.”
It was unbelievably terrifying when it debuted in October 1968 and it’s only gotten better with age. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a remarkable 97 percent. The familiar plotline: There is panic throughout the nation as the dead suddenly come back to life. The film follows a group of characters who barricade themselves in an old farmhouse in an attempt to remain safe from these bloodthirsty, flesh-eating monsters. As any semblance of order within the group begins to dissipate, the zombies start to find ways inside -- and one by one, the living humans become the prey of the deceased ones.
You need to see this one on the big screen. Bring someone’s arm to squeeze when terror strikes!
Your $10 ticket gets you this classic, a glass of wine and a Kiss!
