⚡ Power Outage Tips & Frozen Power Line Safety ⚡

Attention Tybee Island Residents and Visitors:
With freezing temperatures and icy conditions, power outages may occur due to frozen or downed power lines. Here’s what you need to know to stay safe and informed:

📞 Reporting Power Outages:
If you experience a power outage, contact Georgia Power:
▪️Online: www.georgiapower.com/outage
▪️Phone: (888) 891-0938
▪️Text: Text "OUT" to 42797 to report it quickly.

⚠️ Frozen Power Line Safety:
▪️Never touch or approach downed power lines. They may still be live and extremely dangerous!
▪️Stay at least 30 feet away and keep others (including pets) at a safe distance.
▪️Report downed lines to Georgia Power immediately.

🏠 During a Power Outage:
▪️Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed to preserve food.
▪️Use flashlights instead of candles for light.
▪️Avoid using generators indoors or near open windows to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
