Coastal Stewards Workshop: Citizen Science on the Coast

Get involved in citizen science on the Georgia coast by sampling a variety of opportunities during this hands-on Coastal Stewards workshop hosted by Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant. Participants will hear form a panel of experts from universities and conservation organizations who lead citizen science initiatives focused on water quality monitoring and surveys of marine organisms.

Test your dolphin photo identification skills and then practice identifying phytoplankton in a microscope lab led by fellow citizen scientists. In the afternoon activities will center on citizen science happening in terrestrial habitats along the coast including.
The workshop is hosted by UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant and is part of the Coastal Stewards Program, a workshop series that engages adults in lecture, lab and field activities.
