  1. Winter Science Series: Microplastics in Fish

February 12, 2019, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium

This class will focus on the ingestion of microplastics by marine life. Participants will dissect fish species collected from Georgia’s coastal waters and analyze gut contents for the prevalence of microplastics. Marine educators will discuss the potential impacts of microplastics on marine ecosystems and will share information about a new citizen science initiative that involves sampling for microplastics at sites along the Georgia coast. This event is part of the Winter Science Series, an environmental education course for adults offered at the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium. The series consists of three classes that focus on studying fish found in Georgia’s coastal waters. Topics include fish biology, morphology, taxonomy, and diversity. Classes can be taken individually or as a series. To register, fill out this form by February 5.

Fine Payment: Traffic and local ordinance fines may be paid at the TIPD. We accept cash, money order, credit/debit cards, and cashier's checks. We do not accept personal checks. If the fine is not paid beforehand, defendant must appear in court at time and date shown on traffic citation or subpoena. Tybee Island Municipal Court has recently enabled online traffic ticket payment at https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/tybeeislandpdga. This site can only be used to pay police-issued citations online. If your citation requires a personal court appearance, you will be unable to pay online, and you will need to be present at the Court date on your citation. Parking ticket payments online are still done through the "Pay Parking Tickets" link under Online Payments to the left on each page.
