February 23, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Tybee Post Theater
The last feature in our run up to the Academy Awards Feb. 24 is, of course, “A Star is Born!!”
In this new take on the tragic love story, Bradley Cooper plays seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers—and falls in love with—struggling artist Ally (Lady Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer… until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.
Despite its near shutout at the Golden Globes in January, there are high expectations for “A Star is Born” at the Oscars. It’s only win at the Globes was Best Original Song, “Shallow.”
February 27, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Tybee Post Theater
This award-winning dark comedy explores the epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.
Bush, played by Sam Rockwell, picked Dick Cheney (Christian Bale), the CEO of Halliburton Co., to be his Republican running mate in the 2000 presidential election. No stranger to politics, Cheney's impressive résumé included stints as White House chief of staff, House Minority Whip and defense secretary. When Bush wins by a narrow margin, Cheney begins to use his newfound power to control of key foreign policy and defense decisions throughout Washington.

Fine Payment: Traffic and local ordinance fines may be paid at the TIPD. We accept cash, money order, credit/debit cards, and cashier's checks. We do not accept personal checks. If the fine is not paid beforehand, defendant must appear in court at time and date shown on traffic citation or subpoena. Tybee Island Municipal Court has recently enabled online traffic ticket payment at https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/tybeeislandpdga. This site can only be used to pay police-issued citations online. If your citation requires a personal court appearance, you will be unable to pay online, and you will need to be present at the Court date on your citation. Parking ticket payments online are still done through the "Pay Parking Tickets" link under Online Payments to the left on each page.

TIPD-VIP TYBEE ISLAND ADULT GROUP
HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS
TIPD Chief Robert Bryson has created a group propelled by adult residents giving back to each other - helping to accomplish whatever needs to be done for the comfort and companionship of fellow residents. The YMCA has come on board to give their support, and our restaurants have come forward, too, giving their goods and support to this project.
Visit with your neighbors, and learn more about what we can do for our friends on the island.
Our ultimate goal is for a kinder, happier group of helpful neighbors on Tybee. If you are unable to attend, due to health or other needs, you are one of our more cherished VIP’s. We are seeking to offer our help. If you are not needing help, we need you to help others, and if you need help getting the garbage out from your second story house, but have a need to give back, well… we need you too!
Attend these monthly meetings with island restaurants contributing free lunches!
