Bill Garbett - term 2012 - 2013

Occupation:
Retired research scientist and program manager in forest productivity research with the University of Florida, Union Camp and International Paper. High School Biology teacher, Key West, Florida; Peace Corps Volunteer, Livingston, Guatemala.

Public Service:
Better Hometown Program Promotions Committee, Better Hometown Program Design Committee, Tybee Island Planning Commission 2006-2007, Tybee Island Master Plan Stakeholders Group, Tybee Beautification Association, Tybee Island Marine Science Center, Tybee Island Historical Society, Friends of Tybee Theater.

Rob Callahan - term 2014 - 2016 
 

Occupation: Construction inspector

Public Service: First term on City Council, assigned to Infrastructure Committee and Parking Committee. Served on Tybee Planning Commission for four years. Served on Tybee Arts Association Board for two years. Member of Tybee Beautification Association, Tybee Marine Science Center, Friends of Tybee Theater, Tybee Community Garden, Tybee Dart League, Sons of the American Legion,  and Coco’s Trivia Team. Past member of Tybee Audit Committee and Geovista Credit Union Board, where I served as Chairman of the Board for 3 years.


Education: BS in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. Certified Planner (AICP) and Project Manager (PMI). I completed numerous professional development courses in management and technical continuing education courses in engineering and planning during my 30 year career working for the Army. I also instructed in 3 different professional development courses pertaining to future planning, project programming, and operations and maintenance of facilities for the Army.

Monty Parks - 2014-2016

Occupation: Semi retired

Experience: 30 years industrial factory management with supervision over shipping/receiving, purchasing, personnel, scheduling, IT, and maintenance departments. Former warehouse manager for American Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Former café owner on 16th street.

Education: Bachelor Science in Accounting, Certified by American Production and Inventory Control Society, Certified ISO 9000 auditor, trained in Kanban, Six Sigma techniques, and several manufacturing methods such as heat treat, stamping, welding, painting. ServSafe certified at manager level. 

Public Service: Four years Planning Commission (two years as Chair), Main Street Board of Directors, City of Tybee Historical Commission.
